Abstract

This response to Harry Reid's book Outside Verdict: An Old Kirk in a New Scotland from a parish minister considers several of the book's proposals for the future development of the Church of Scotland. Jean Montgomerie goes on to reflect on her own experience as a minister, looking at the changing role of the minister and at female ministers in the Kirk.
