Abstract

This theological reflection on Harry Reid's Outside Verdict: An Old Kirk in a New Scotland sets out to consider the book in a wider context, in particular by looking at how sociologists of religion from elsewhere in Europe view the process of secularization. Professor Fergusson goes on to examine some of the issues raised in the book and suggests some areas for the church to focus on: these include apologetics, science, culture, and social practice.
