Another Ecumenical Experience: A Personal Odyssey

Abstract

Prompted by an article which appeared in an earlier issue of Theology in Scotland (J. Ross McLaren, “One Ecumenical Experience”, vol 8.2, pp. 37-44), the author here gives an account of his own ecumenical journey and explores ways forward in different forms of ecumenical activity (structural, theological, biblical and relational) in Scotland and beyond, concluding that a dynamic ecumenism will come about as outmoded structures and traditions are, out of necessity and in response to Christ’s teaching, left behind.
