Abstract

Syria's neoliberal public policies have encouraged stark inequalities between the privileged centers and deprived peripheries of its cities. The authors of Syria's Contrasting Neighbourhoods compare and contrast the settlements around Syria's largest city, Aleppo, with the newly developed chic neighborhoods in the old city of Damascus.
